Management meets Nietzsche - Book Trailer

In this thought-provoking book, the author examines the fascinating story of how one of the greatest philosophers of all time, Nietzsche, brought down a value system in 1884, and what we can learn from it to live up to the buzzword "disruptive". Through the eyes of Nietzsche's Zarathustra, a prominent figure in philosophical scholarship, readers are taken on a journey to discover how the requirements for a great leader have changed over the last 140 years. Drawing on scientific studies, personal experiences, and other management literature, the book offers practical insights on how anyone can become a great leader, regardless of their background, gender, or other characteristics, if they have a philosophy of work.

Challenge drives Innovation

Challenge is fundamental for every great leader. You have to challenge yourself to rise above, and the same applies to your colleagues and employees. These challenges will inevitably lead us to run into walls that we can't get past. Our reactions to challenges define us. Do we sit down and cry or do we accept the challenge and climb over the damn wall? It’s OK to ask someone for help. The main thing is to get over the wall. Once we get over that wall and celebrate our success, the next wall will come and present us with the next challenge. With each wall we overcome, we will become more alert and better in our personal development. We learn and build our experience. This process should never stop, because it keeps us and our brain young and fit.

The Three Metamorphosis of the spirit by Nietzsche

Nietzsche describes the three metamorphoses of the spirit as the transformation from a camel to a lion and finally to a child. The Camel: Represents the spirit that desires to take on a burden, a strong will, and dutifulness. It accepts norms and values imposed by society. In a management context, this might represent an employee or a manager who accepts and conforms to the existing rules and corporate culture. The Lion: Symbolizes the spirit of rebellion and freedom, refusing the obligations imposed by society and saying "No". This could symbolize a leader or manager who breaks old rules that no longer serve the company's purpose and fights against status quo. The Child: Represents the spirit that creates its own values and norms. It symbolizes innocence and a return to a state of forgetting, where a new beginning is possible. This could be interpreted as a leader who is not just content with breaking the old rules (like the lion), but who creates a new vision for the company and drives innovation.
